Melbourne CBD & inner-city removalists

An inner-Melbourne move runs on a booked lift window, not a kerb.

Melbourne CBD and inner-city removalists who move by the goods lift, the loading bay and a building manager booked window, from the towers of Southbank and Docklands to the bluestone-laned walk-ups of Carlton. We bring the certificate of currency and the dock plan your owners corporation asks for.

How it works

A move that runs to a schedule

  1. Send the building

Give us the address at each end plus the floor and lift. We pull the building manager and owners corporation requirements.

  2. We book the window

Goods lift, loading bay and the certificate of currency lined up, plus the loading-zone or laneway plan for the truck.

  3. Move day, to schedule

A careful crew wraps, loads and runs the move inside the booked window, protecting lift, lobby and floors.

  4. Settled in

We place everything, reassemble what we took apart, and clear the cartons so a small apartment is liveable that night.

Common questions

Good to know before an inner-city move

Do I need a council permit to move in the city?

Usually not. The City of Melbourne on-street permit is a construction parking permit with a six-month minimum, not a one-day removalist bay. The realistic plan is a loading zone (default 30 minutes, longer after 4pm in many central streets) plus the building loading bay, timed and booked. We sort it.

What does the building manager ask for?

For most inner-Melbourne buildings: a booked goods-lift window, the dock height and lift dimensions confirmed, often an induction, and an insurance certificate of currency. The owners corporation sets the rules. We get them in writing before move day.

Can you move into a high-rise tower?

Yes. Southbank, Docklands and the CBD towers are pure dock-and-goods-lift moves on a booked window. We confirm the lift weight limit and internal dimensions, pad and protect it, and stage the load to the bay so the truck is never blocking a tram lane or clearway.

How much does an inner-Melbourne move cost?

Online-quote rates start at $200/hour for two movers and a truck, $250 for three, and $400 for a larger crew with two trucks. You get a clear indicative quote up front for your specific building and move.
